You can make a difference! Here are a few ways you can help the Carroll County Humane Society:
CCHS is participating in the VERY BEST PET NETWORK, co-sponsored by Purina and Wal*Mart. Each week photos of the adoptable animals at the Carroll County shelter are posted at the Carrollton Wal*Mart in the pet products area. In exchange for our participation in this program, Purina and Wal*Mart together provide gift cards with which we can purchase needed food or kitty litter or treats ...anything that would make life at the shelter healthier or more pleasant for the dogs and cats at the shelter.
One of the ways that we can earn extra points is if we can let Purina and Wal*Mart know that their program is working, and that dogs and cats are being adopted as a result of the posting of the photos. So, if you see a photo on the bulletin board at Wal*Mart and you can't resist adopting that animal, please send us a letter or email or call us and tell us your story. You can phone: 770-830-2763 or email: cchs@westga.edu or send us a letter at: Carroll County Humane Society, Attn: Very Best Pet Network, P.O. Box 1304, Carrollton GA 30112.
These are
animals from the Carroll County shelter or other homeless animals that have been
rescued by CCHS, given the appropriate vaccines and tests, and have been spayed
or neutered. To view the CCHS foster animals that are available for adoption,

The Carroll County Humane Society foster program requires that families or individuals that adopt our animals agree to certain guidelines for the care and treatment of the animals. Please click on Foster Cat Adoption Guidelines to see the specific guidelines for cat adoptions or Foster Dog Adoption Guidelines for dog adoption guidelines.
Applications for adopting either a dog or a cat from the CCHS foster program are available below.
There are several people in the Humane Society who are fostering dogs and cats until the animal can be placed in a permanent home. The animals are taken from the Shelter and, before they can be put up for adoption, they are tested for heartworm (dogs) and feline AIDS and leukemia (cats). If they test negative, they are spayed or neutered and given their shots. The Humane Society funds all of the medical costs. The foster parent is responsible for the feeding and care of the animal.
A caring and loving home is the ultimate gift you can give to a homeless animal. They have so much to give in return, but they can't show you the extent of their devotion until they are invited into your life.

Give our local law enforcement and prosecutor's office all the support and encouragement they need in order to pursue cases of animal abuse to the fullest extent the law and evidence allow. Phone calls, letters, or emails to the head of the law enforcement agency that is making a case thanking them for their attention to animal abuse cases will assure them that they have our support.
